Allied Kitchen & Bath Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Allied Kitchen and Bath proudly supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the month of October. An annual campaign set up by breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Awareness Month aims to increase awareness and raise funding for critical research into diagnosis, prevention and treatment, plus support and care for sufferers and their families. We proudly light up our building in pink every October to show our support!
Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in women; in fact 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Early detection and prevention and ultimately finding a cure is incredibly close to our hearts, as earlier this year we lost our colleague Ann Morris to breast cancer.
In honor of this worthy cause, Allied hosted a fundraising event on Thursday, October 4 , ‘Décor for the Cure’ in partnership with Glam-A-THON, who has raised over half a million dollars over the past ten years to fund free mammograms, diagnostic testing and support for those undergoing treatment. Over a hundred guests joined us for a ‘Pink Power Evening’ in our beautiful showroom and enjoyed delicious light bites, wine and great music. Almost $10,000 was raised through the event to benefit the Broward Health Foundation who is Glam-A-THON’s chosen local partner for breast cancer initiatives this year.
