Bill Feinberg receives outstanding service award after successfully completing two years as Habitat Broward Chairman of the Board.

After completing a two-year tenure in August, Bill Feinberg passes the torch to new Chairman Robert Taylor Jr. of Burdette Beckmann, Inc. Feinberg was part of the team that allowed Habitat Broward to obtain a nine-acre parcel, which will be the site for A Rick Case Habitat Community, a new 77-home community in Pompano Beach. Bill has engaged the political, religious and business leaders in the community to stand behind it and gather the funds to start this ambitious project.

As Chair, Robert will provide strategic leadership and fiduciary oversight as he leads a dynamic Board and organization over the next two years, which include ambitious plans for the agency’s growth.

“We are honored to have Robert serve as our chair,” said Nancy Robin, Habitat Broward’s CEO and executive director. “His family and company, Burdette Beckmann, Inc. (BBI), are among our most philanthropic partners. Robert also brings a strong business acumen to our team to lead us during this exciting time in our history.”

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Broward brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat Broward offers a “hand up” not a “hand out” to low to very low-income families who are unable to qualify for conventional financing but are willing to work hard to improve their family’s lives. Key initiatives include empowering partner families through education, resources and support to successfully achieve their personal, academic and professional goals; teaching the youth of future homeowner families the skills and attitudes needed to make better life choices and break the intergenerational cycle of poverty; increasing awareness and educating the community regarding issues related to the affordable housing crisis and what they can do to help; pursuing green building certification for Habitat Broward homes in order to make our design more sustainable and eco-friendly; as well as revitalizing and strengthening the community by building affordable homes throughout Broward County.
