Running from October 1 – October 31, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual campaign designed by breast cancer awareness charities. The goal is to increase awareness and raise funding for critical research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of this disease, while helping support and care for sufferers and their families. As the pink ribbon is the international symbol for breast cancer awareness, here at Allied Kitchen and Bath we gladly light up our building in PINK every October to show our support!
Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in women; in fact 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s over 250,000 estimated in 2019 alone. Early detection, prevention and ultimately finding a cure is a cause particularly close to our hearts as we lost a member of the Allied family, Ann Morris, to breast cancer in 2018.
Allied Kitchen and Bath proudly supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the month of October and celebrated by having a PINK POWER day on October 2, where they encouraged the whole staff to take part with a Decorate your Space Contest and an Employee Fashion Show! Allied will raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness until the end of the month.
